Native On Screen Keyboard Function

Hello, Happy Friday :D

Was wondering if anyone has any idea how I can get the on screen keyboard to come up on the InTouch app when using the PostLogonDialog box. The only string input is the logon button which opens the built in post logon dialog box. I've read online there's DialogStringEntry() function but I'm not sure how I can integrate this with the native PostLogonDIalog box. I've tried to use this script on a button that opens the postlogon dialog and the OSK but only the logon box is opening.

Handling Large MQTT Payloads in InTouch

We are currently working with Wonderware InTouch and need to consume MQTT data within a standalone InTouch application.

As per our understanding, InTouch typically supports up to approximately 131 characters for an I/O Message Tag. However, in our use case, we are expecting MQTT messages with payload sizes of up to 20,000 characters.

Could you please advise if there is any supported method or workaround to handle and consume such large MQTT data within InTouch? Additionally, guidance on recommended architecture or alternative approaches (if direct handling is not feasible) would be highly appreciated.

Key Points:

MQTT payload size: ~20,000 characters
InTouch I/O Message Tag limit: ~131 characters
Requirement: Consume full payload within standalone InTouch

Can Historian 2020 run with InTouch Unlimited license?

Our user use their system with Historian 2020 500 tags. But they want to just change tag number to 5000 tags on same environment(Historian 2020).

I consider to inform InTouch Unlimited Professional for them.

Can Historian 2020 run with InTouch Unlimited license?

Hi, can you please assist?
Using Intouch HMI 2023. Reading tags from the OI.GATEWAY.3>PLC via OCMC, tags imported via tag directory. Issue is when the PLC is disconnected the values remain on True and do not fail to zero or False. This is observed from OCMC Diagnostics and SCADA.
Is there a way or somewhere that I can make that Zero or set it to fail to “False” when the is no PLC connection or communication What could be causing this and how can 1 go about resolving this issue?

I am a Pre-sales from the AVEVA China team. We are currently supporting a key customer in the maritime/shipping industry who is undergoing a critical security certification process.

As part of their compliance requirements, the customer needs to document the specific encryption technologies used within InTouch HMI, particularly regarding:

User Authentication: The underlying algorithms used for password storage and transmission in both "InTouch Specific" and "Windows/ArchestrA" security modes.
Data Communication: Encryption methods used for HMI-to-node or HMI-to-Cloud communication (e.g., TLS versions).

Anyone has done this certification in other region ?Could you please provide or point me toward the following:

A formal technical whitepaper or statement detailing the encryption algorithms (e.g., SHA-256, AES) used in the latest versions of InTouch HMI.
Any available security certification documents (such as IEC 62443-4-1/4-2, Achilles, or CSPN) that can be shared with the customer to verify our product’s security posture.

Does the 64 tags limit apply to both the windowmaker and the runtime? or windowmaker is unlimited just the runtime which is limited to 64 tags?

Is this license version backwards compatible?

I/O tag quality value blocking animation of Industrial Graphics

Industrial graphics checks the quality of I/O tags. If the quality is not "good" (192), animations don't work. For workstations to communicate with the main InTouch server, we have created an AccessName so a lot of internal tags are actually I/O tags but do not communicate with a PLC. With InTouch graphics this way works fine but with Industrial graphics it does not because the quality of a tag is only determined after the tag value has changed. When a project has re-started all of these I/O tags have quality bad (0) and animations fail. Is there a way to force that all tags are initiated with the correct quality value without actually forcing a change of the tag value?

Recommended way to ask for confirmation?

Connecting InTouch 2023 R2 to Oracle 19c

Hello, my customer wants to connect InTouch HMI 2023 R2 with Oracle 19c.

This is the plan for customer:

Establish a way to connect from InTouch to Oracle (Started with – SQLConnect() – scription)
After the connection works, writing some script to test (SQLInsert, ,,,)
Developing some Archstra object to communicate with Database to have some graphic (Grids, passing values, modifying values, searching for certain values,…)

Has anyone done this before? Customer is using some Object (Archstra) with embedded .NET to connect to Oracle and experiencing some issues.

Dear AVEVA Team,

We are using AVEVA InTouch Unlimited Edition 2023 R2 with the latest available patches applied.

In our application, user access–based control for screens and specific functionalities has been implemented using InTouch Desktop Client (WindowViewer), and it is working as expected based on configured user access levels.

However, when accessing the same application through the InTouch Web Client, the configured user access control is not being enforced. All users are able to view and operate all screens and functions, irrespective of their defined access levels or user permissions.

We kindly request your guidance and official clarification on the following points:

Does InTouch Web Client support user access–based security (such as window or screen-level access control) similar to the InTouch Desktop Client (WindowViewer)?
If supported, what is the recommended configuration or method (for example, using AVEVA Identity Manager, Windows user groups, or role-based security) to implement user-specific access control in the Web Client?
Are there any known limitations, design constraints, or documented behaviors related to security or access levels in InTouch Web Client for version 2023 R2?

If yes, then for each alarm will be 10 duplications in the database with a different alarm provider name.
Is there a way to optimize that?

Hundreds of Gb of .tmp files wonderware/intouch 2020

Hello, I have an install of Intouch 2020 R2 with patch 01 on a windows 10 machine. Running for about 2 years. The ssd became nearly full (500Gb) with .tmp files located in c:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\AIGwebserver\AppData\Local\Temp. I used WinDirStat (portable, just a .exe) to identify the folder. I'm stuck trying to identify what the issue is, and why it's filling this folder with temp files. Every file is 7.2Mb and time stamped 1 minute apart (but not all hours of the day, it seems to start and stop randomly). I deleted the files. The data in the files is unreadable.

Has anyone seen this, or something similar? Any ideas how to figure this out?

How to send data to excel from Wonderware Application Server script

I want to use Wonderware Application Server script to create a new excel file, file name is A_timedate.xls, and write some real-time data to the corresponding cells. Any suggestion for this? Real-time data can get from IDE.

Or other method to write the Real-time data excel, or alternatively, we can adopt a different approach: instead of writing data from the IDE to Excel, we retrieve data from Excel into the IDE.

We need clarification regarding the InTouch Unlimited Professional license.
In the official documentation, it is mentioned that the package includes RDS + Historian Client Desktop. However, it is not clearly stated whether the InTouch Desktop Client is included as part of this license.

Therefore, we request your confirmation on the following point:

Does the InTouch Unlimited Professional license include the InTouch Desktop Client, or is it required to be purchased separately?

Kindly provide the official documentation or licensing reference for our understanding and for sharing with our customer.

InTouch Access Anywhere (ITAA) Server on Windows 10/11

Hi everyone. I'm struggling with a doubt about the requirements of ITAA 2023 R2.

According to the Technology Matrix, Windows 10/11 are supported OS Environments for ITAA Server.
But some documents say ITAA Server only supports Windows Servers OS. For example, docs.aveva.com/.../525613.html states "The computer that will host the InTouch Access Anywhere server must be running a compatible 64-bit version of Windows Server."
While other documents don't. For example, docs.aveva.com/.../368434.html simply says "InTouch Access Anywhere server must be installed on a 64-bit version of Windows that is supported by InTouch HMI 2012 R2 (version 10.6) or later"

I've installed ITAA Server on Windows 11 on a lab environment and it works correctly, but in a production environment with exactly the same versions of Windows and AVEVA System Platform products (2023 R2 SP1 P01), it doesn't work. After login in on the ITAA URL the browser window remains black for about 20 seconds and then returns to the ITAA login prompt. Examining the logs, it seems that the connection gets established and then drops when the RemoteApp attempts to launch.

I suspect a Group Policy Object (GPO) or Firewall setting might be causing the session to drop in the production environment, but couldn't find which one.

Has anyone been able to use ITAA Server on a Windows 11 computer?

Any tips or configuration details would be greatly appreciated.

How to see tags from inside InTouch HMI as attributes?

I have a REST webSVC where I want to update the <<axis_send>> tag with the AVIGILON_SEND string. The galaxy browser shows attributes only for deployable objects so I must be looking in the wrong spot.
