We have a requirement to display additional custom information (e.g., Asset ID) within the Alarm Control. Currently, we can see predefined fields such as User1, User2, User3 , but these are already being utilized for other purposes (e.g., severity and related metadata). Our questions are: Is there a supported way to add a new custom column in the Alarm Control to display additional data like Asset ID? If adding a new column is not possible, can existing columns (e.g., User1–User3) be dynamically modified at runtime based on the nature of the alarm or incoming data? What is the recommended approach for handling such requirements in System Platform? We are looking for a flexible solution where alarm-related metadata can be displayed dynamically without interfering with existing field usage.

The workaround is to place metadata and buttons alongside the alarmlist, and use the selected item in the list to bind those controls. It is far from good UX design in 2026, but it is the best I have been able to serve. I hope someone else will chime in with a better solution though

We have thought about making a custom control to show alarms. But since alarms are so critical, we find comfort in using the provided controls from Aveva.
