Attribute with data reference: Table Lookup is not updated in PI Vision

Hello all:

 

I've got some attributes that are provided by a SQL Server using table lookup reference. They are updated once per day and are showed in PI AF but are not updated in PI Vision.

We usually use "iisreset" in PI Vision server to update these values. It doesn't happen every day, it is a random issue. When it occur, I check other value are update normally.

 

Extra question:

What are the typical use for "iisreset"?

    Request you to check PSE--> Library --> Tables --> General--> Cache Interval

     

    With manual refreshes, you refresh table data by right-clicking the table in the Library browser and clicking Refresh. Otherwise, table data that is being queried by client applications is refreshed only when the application is restarted. For example, when PI System Explorer is opened or whenever the Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) application pool recycles the client (the default is every 29 hours).

     

    Request you to set Cache Interval to appropriate period to avoid.

    IIS reset is not recommended. It is basically restarting the web server i.e. downtime of PI Vision.

    The tables had the Manual Refresh option selected, not sure if this is the main problem. I just changed to 1 minute as Cache Interval. I will wait for a new issue.

     

    To clarify a bit more.

    The database is updated every day at 12.00pm and I can see this last value at AF without problems but PI Vision does not receive the last update.

     

    To be honest I don't understand the Cache Interval meaning, this value is about reading time between the AF and the DataBase or the PI Vision and the AF, or how this works. Due to I think my issue are related to the PI Vision conection with the AF.

    Hi Ervin,

     

    I think Lal Babu Shaik 's pointed out the most likely cause as being the cache interval being improperly set.

     

    If this is not the issue, can you share both the table configuration and the table lookup configuration as well as the AF Server version and the PSE version on the PI Vision machine?
