How do I transfer Historian 2014 (Tier 1) historical data to a Historian 2023 (Tier 2 replication server)?

Jordan, is it the aahBackFillUI utility you tried? Did it fail or timeout? The 2023 version was enhanced to address this issue, but likely the 2014 version on the T1 historian still has these limitations.

Did you try logging a support ticket?

Yes you are correct - I tried the aahBackFillUI utility.It's currently taking about 30 hours to backfill 10 tags and about 14 hours worth of data on a test bed. I'm not sure why it's taking so long but it's definitely not working as intended, I'm sure.

I would suggest opening a support ticket, so that they can help you diagnose and maybe propose a workaround, because there are ways to manually trigger the replication in smaller chunks.

Silly question, but can you run the backfill utility from the Tier 2 Historian server or must it be run from the Tier 1 / data source for the backfilling?

Depending on your scenario, you may be able to use the much faster and efficient method of copying blocks directly from the "tier 1". See more details on this in the related forum post.
