Dear AVEVA Support Team,
We are facing a Store & Forward initialization error in our Historian system.
Error message:
Store/forward Storage (C:\Historian StoreForward\LocalAutoSummaryReplication) failed to load file
C:\Historian StoreForward\LocalAutoSummaryReplication\A000000001\taginfo.dat,
error = 18 (Invalid file identifier) fileid read requested returned 0 instead of 21587
[NEULANDUNIT1; HistoryBlockMetadataServer.cpp; 447]
Issue details:
- Historian version: [AVEVA Historian 2020]
- StoreForward path currently configured to: D:\Historian StoreForward\
- C: drive previously used for StoreForward; later changed to D: drive
- Error still references old C:\ path during startup
- Services affected: Historian Data Acquisition, Store & Forward
- Event Viewer logs show repeated initialization failure.
Actions already taken:
- Verified StoreForward configuration path points to D:\
- Checked folder permissions for Historian service account
- Renamed and recreated LocalAutoSummaryReplication folder
- Restarted Historian services and SQL Server services
- Confirmed enough disk space on both C: and D: drives
Despite these steps, the same error continues to appear on startup.
Kindly advise on further diagnostic steps or confirm if internal StoreForward configuration or metadata cache reset is required.
