  • Hi,

I have the same problem between a client in a workgroup and the licence server in a Domain. Is started the configurator as a different user that I made on both systems. When I configure the manger I had to enter the credentials of a user that is controled by the domain and IT from the client which is different from the User that I use to start the configurator. Do I need to use the same user to start the configurator and for the credentials to configur the management server?

  • Hi KVG,

Reposting my reply to the SE Forum here for completeness sake:

I can also suggest looking at the Enterprise License Management User Guide from Plant SCADA 2023 R2 installation, namely page 45 details how to use Workgroup environments and some additional configuration that is required.

I've personally used AEL and Plant SCADA in mixed environments, and what I found most important is the following:

    1) The Username and Password defined in Workgroup or local to any machine must match exactly.

    2) The Workgroup user account is added to the AELic Group on the AEL Server / Management node.

Also test that you can Telnet to port 59200 from your workgroup client node, to make sure it isn't a firewall, or security issue.

    Hope these tips help.

Let us know how you go.

    Kind regards

    Olivier

  • I also on clients sides setting hosts file with for example:  .where IP (is server ip) and CSERVER is computer name
