Compatibility Between Plant SCADA Update 14 and Update 8

Hi all,

If I use Plant SCADA 2023 R2 Update 14 to edit some graphics, modify variables, or update equipment structures, then take a backup of the project and restore it to a server machine running Update 8, will everything work properly?

Or will I encounter issues because the project was modified using Update 14 and then restored to a system using Update 8?

    Hi  ,

    Yes this should be fine in this case. We try pretty hard to avoid any structural changes to the databases, file formats or backup format in monthly updates which could stop you doing this workflow.

    However, functional changes do occur or perhaps even code changes, e.g. we may introduce new parms, cicode functions due to fixes which could cause compilation or behaviour differences - especially if you had already adopted them in your project.
