M241 PLC and Aveva Plant SCADA 2023 communication

Hi all, i am trying to connect M241 PLC to Aveva Plant SCADA 2023 R2, is there any default configuration (default software) to connect them, i mean, like the OFS in the case of a m580 PLC, or i should use modbus TCP/IP or OPC/UA protocols to read tags from the m241 PLC? and if i want to use OPC/UA, is there any manual or article that will help me to do so?

thank you so much.

  • Hi  ,

You could use either MODNET (Modbus TCP/IP) or OFSOPC driver for M241 PLC to communicate with Plant SCADA 2023 R2. To access Driver Reference Help,

    • Launch Plant SCADA Studio
    • Click on Topology button on the left menu
    • Click on I/O Devices on the top menu

You will see "Driver Reference Help" on the far-left on the top menu as shown below

You can also use I/O Device Communication Wizard to help you to create a new I/O device.
