Motivation of the visualization: “We need to see a screen that shows all areas in a single view... and show the numbers necessary to know where to drill down”
A type of overview (or summary dashboard) is a single screen that displays key variables of multiple areas or systems for easy comparison.
Comparison is effective if we compare “apples to apples” (same graphical and numerical standards) and by adding “benchmark” data (such as averages) from which we can evaluate and say, “we’re doing good, bad, better than, worse than.”
