Most people here will know by now that AVEVA ended all support for PI ACE on 31 December 2023.

I'm pleased to announce that the limited beta for gSharp - our PI ACE replacement platform - is available starting January 29th. The beta program will run for 8 weeks, allowing interested customers to test-drive the software ahead of the general release in early April.

Upon launching, the beta will provide access to the following key features:

  • Simple migration from legacy .NET PI ACE modules, to gSharp modules
  • Transition from PI Module Database to PI Asset Framework for calculation context
  • Fully AF SDK based re-implementations of PIACEPoint, PIACEBIFunctions and PIACENet class modules for ACE compatibility
  • Multiple schedule modes, including cron, clock scheduled and event-triggered calculations
  • Manual recalculation capability
  • Deep and customisable logging engine

Not only does gSharp provide a migration path and compatibility for PI ACE calculations, it is a stand-alone programmatic calculation engine in it's own right. New users can write complex and customised calculations in their choice of .NET language and utilise their existing AF database as the source of context for those calculations. gSharp provides the 'Programmed Analytics' functionality that is missing in the PI AF stack. As well as receiving an exclusive look at the platform, we hope that beta testers will provide feedback to help shape the future development of the gSharp product.

On January 29th, enrolled customers will receive an email with credentials to access the software from a secure FTP server, ready for installation within their environment.

If you would like to participate in the beta program please email us at sales@ghost.site. For any other questions about the gSharp platform, the beta program or the wider launch, please DM me, and I will get back to you promptly.
