A baseball TV scoreboard has simplicity and clarity: a perfect balance of abstraction and detail that keeps viewers informed at a glance.

I believe, this same principle applies to industrial dashboard design, especially for mobile screens.

Plant managers and process stewards need real-time awareness of operations, but traditional dashboards—designed for large monitors—often fall short on smaller devices. Zooming in and out, endlessly scrolling, and hunting for information disrupts focus and decision-making.

-- This is a design flaw --

Inspired by the clean efficiency of a baseball scoreboard, I believe dashboards for mobile devices must be tailored to fit the screen. This means adopting a visual design that maximizes clarity and usability in limited space.

The example shown here is a conceptual High-Level Dashboard designed for a Pulp & Paper Plant, optimized for mobile viewing.

Let me know any thoughts!
