Hello,
At the moment we would like to transfer laboratory measurement values of the shift from Excel tables to the Pi system. The Pi server itself cannot be reached because a firewall separates the office network and the Pi server network (front-end + back-end firewall).
Our goal: To display the time course of the four-hourly manual analyses in PiVision.
Challenges:
- The Excel tables are currently stored in the Office network. In my opinion, an OLE DB link from external files in the PSE is not (so easily) possible. Only the ports for DataLink and PiVision as well as PSE including Asset Analytics are released on the firewall
- The previous Excel tables have the current specifications in the header, which are always overwritten / copied so that the shift worker knows his target values. These come from paper flowsheets that are printed out before each journey
- Specifications such as <10 ppm are required, i.e. float and text are necessary
- Not all employees may have write authorisation
- There are around 300 variables involved, which is why a solution using pi points should be avoided if possible, and new substances must be maintained or changed in the list from time to time.
- The shift enters notes such as changes in the Excel table or likes to use free text
- Sometimes there a non-entries / blanks needed
- The operator does not want to use multiple systems. They need to see that the checksum is 100% always.
Our previous idea is not realisable: PSE table and manual input of values, due to the above-mentioned requirements.
What ideas do you have? How do you solve such a problem without a LIMS system?
