PI assigns piadmin to a random account with no accesss

Hi I am testing the security of a collective system installed on a deltaV server machine. We created a random test account with no permissions, only Windows Desktop, and for some reason when you open the SMT with it although at first it seems you dont have access, you get the message that says that it is required to restart or return with different credentials. Even after canceling this message, piadmin is assigned to the random account and gives piadmin access to it. What can be causing this? i verified the users, mappings, trusts, etc and I cant seem to find the connection. Please help!!

  • Hello, I don't think we have enough information to assist effectively, but my first thought is that you're trying to open PI SMT locally on the PI DA node, so the default !Proxy_127! trust grants the permissions. If it's not the case, I would suggest checking PI Network Manager Statistics for the row relevant for your user and check how it got granted permissions in the Trust/OS User column. Also, if you click on the username in the bottom left corner, it should show the same info.
