In the article, it mentions various scale data options; you will have to check the specs on your particular scale to see what options are available.
Having said that.. if there is a will, there is a way. If necessary, a talented developer could write an application to get data from scale and put it into PI.
Many years ago, the first custom app I wrote for PI was to read data from a Toledo scale and write it to PI, so, it CAN be done.
