I am in the process of installing PI Server 2024 on a machine that is joined to a domain. During the installation, I am prompted to select an SSL certificate, but none are available. I consulted the domain administrator, but he informed me that there is no CA (Certificate Authority) installed, so he cannot provide me with a certificate.
My question is how should I proceed in this case? The installation will be on a single machine (all-in-one), meaning that PI Server, PI Vision, and other components will all be installed on the same PC. I am concerned about continuing the installation without an SSL certificate because the installer warns that PI Trusts connections will not be available if I proceed without one.
What do you recommend I do in this situation? Should I insist that the administrator install a CA in the domain, or is there another recommended alternative to generate an SSL certificate that I can use for this installation?
