PI Vision Trend Zooming Feature - Multiple Displays

I am wondering if there is a way that if I zoom in on one Trend in PI Vision, the zoomed-in time range is applied to multiple trends.

For example I am monitoring the vibration, flowrate, current on pumps. If I were to zoom in on the time range for vibration, could this zoom be applied to the flowrate and current graphs.

  • When you zoom in on a trend that uses the display time range, it will update the display time range and change the time shown for all trends that use the display time range. So by default, zooming in on one trend will update every trend.

  • Hi ,

That is good to know. To elaborate a bit more, the dashboard I created has multiple trends which have custom time ranges set in the "Configure Trends > Time Range" settings. The dashboard contains trends with time ranges of 1 week, 1 month, 3 month, and the dynamic time slider at the bottom is set to 8h currently. I know this doesn't sound like the most efficient way for time settings on a dashboard, but currently I am exploring ways to set up a dashboard based on business cases, that is why I have arrived at this problem/scenario.

So given that context, I am wondering if there is a way that if I zoom in using the "lasso type" zoom-in (see below) that it could apply that time range zoom for select other trends.

    Note the time ranges:

    -1 week trend

    -1 month trend

    -3 month trend

    -8h dynamic time slider

Hope this better explains my use case. Thanks

  • Currently there is no way to connect trends other than via the display time range. If these trends have a custom duration of one week, changing one will not affect the others. You might want to write this up as an enhancement request on the feedback site (https://pisystem.feedback.aveva.com/?project=PIVISION).
