PI Network Manager won't start due to a logon failure

Our PI systems are down, and I suspect this is due to the network manager not running. When I try to manually start the service, it complains about logon failure. I see that it makes use of a service login.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue before? Any assistance would be appreciated, I haven't had much luck with trying things documented.

  • Check out the windows event logs for more details. I suspect if you clear the password, and click "ok", the service might start, although after the next machine restart it might experience an issue. Likely there is an issue with a group policy that is preventing "service" from running services. I've seen this serval times and recommend your domain admins looks at the group policies on the server.
