So, we have successfully used the PI Interface for SNMP 1.7.037 to pull data from v1 SNMP devices. Now we are trying to get data off of SNMP v3 devices and are running into issues knowing what all is needed. After configuring the points with the info that I was given by our network group and putting the authentication and security information in the text file via the ICU, the points showed Bad Input.
I downloaded snmpget and tried there to see what I might be missing. The command line is shown below along with the error that I am getting. So, it appears there is something I am missing. The network group tells me they gave me the correct parameters, but clearly something is not correct although it appears I am hitting the device.
They are checking into it on their side, but I was wondering if anyone with v3 expertise might have some additional insights to share.
