I want to calculate number of times a valve has opened in PI Analytics..The valve values 0(close) and 1(open)..The analysis should only count for a defined period when value is 1..

Create an analysis to monitor the valve:

if BadVal('Valve') then

NoOutput()

else if 'Valve' = 1 and PrevVal('Valve') = 0 then

total('ValveCounter',1)

else

noOutput()

The output is sent to the 'ValveCounter' attribute.

The analysis can be event triggered on 'Valve'

the Bom() function expects a timestamp as argument and will return the beginning of the month relative to the provided timestamp. For your purpose Bom('*') should work.
