How to send SQL queries via PI WebAPI

Question

In other historians, one can pass a SQL query as a plain text in the URL to the WebAPI, getting the same results at a faster speed than ODBC/OLEDB.

I wasn't able to find this functionality in PI WebAPI. Is it possible?

We have some heritage code that will benefit from this instead of having to rewrite them using the RESTful interface.

Hello pythonista ​ , there is no Controller in PI Web API that would accept SQL queries. If you are aiming to use SQL queries, please look into using PI SQL Client (OLEDB, ODBC or JDBC) against PI SQL Data Access Server (RTQP Engine). Please refer to PI SQL Developer Technologies . If you prefer using a REST service, PI Web API is the Developer Technology of choice. There will always be differences depending on what information you request but to my knowledge PI Web API and PI SQL performance should be at about the same level.
