How to backfill historical data for PIPoints receiving data from PI-to-PI interface?

After creating a new PIPoint with an existing PI-to-PI pointsource, I noticed that roughly ten days of historical data were backfilled. Is there an interface parameter that determines an automatic backfill interval? Can we manually backfill for a longer interval than the automatic one?

  • 1) If you have to backfill large points , it is advisable to use a separate instance of the PI to PI interface that's used for doing historical recovery. Set it to off and turn on only when needed.

    2) Additionally ,you could also use the PI Connector for UFL. I have used it to backfill large quantities of data and found it faster than PI to PI history recovery or piconfig.
