We have used the ProcessBook to PI Vision conversion tool with great success. Now we are migrating ProcessBooks with complicated VBA code embedded. We know we will have to use AF. Can anyone provide links/examples of how they accomplished this? Thx

The ProcessBooks do not contain any special/custom symbols or graphics.

Just basic checkboxes that activate small VBA subroutines when checked or unchecked.

The ProcessBooks do contain the two modules:

  1. piutil.bas
  2. piapi32.bas

  • It all depends on what your VBA code does. For the most part, migrations of those displays will be like the other ProcessBook files -> create AF hierarchies. For the VBA code, you'll very likely need to build custom PI Vision symbols to achieve the same functionality. If that's not something achievable, there are a handful of companies that will work with you to create the symbols and convert your existing displays. There are a few open-source symbols here and elsewhere, and we've built a couple as well @ https://mainely.io
