How to change the default custom symbol thumbnail to a custom imagem

Hello,

I've developed a boxplot custom symbol to use on PI Vision and I'm trying to change the default thumbnail icon for it (the blue box) to a custom image, like native symbols from PI Vision have.

Is it possible to change thumbnail icons for custom symbols?

Hi Guilherme,
that is not possible unfortunately. PI Vision doesn't allow custom thumbnail images for custom symbols. We have tried that for our boxplot as well, but couldn't do it.

Hi Guilherme,
Yes, you can. You would use the "iconUrl" parameter in your definition, which would be a path to the icon of your choosing. I like using SVGs from https://fonts.google.com/icons but they don't have a box plot one, unfortunately.
