PI Vision button to open an excel file

I am sure this question has been asked before but I cant find the proper article/case.

Is there a way to save an excel file somewhere on my PI Vision server and in a display in PI vision (this display is imported from Processbook ) create a button/link to open that excel file?

just revisiting this issue...this Knowledgebase article works for pdfs but not for excel files.
Is there another workaround?

You probably need to edit the web.config file for the IIS web site to include the .xlsx in the list of allowed file types. Then it should work!
