What causes PI Vision HTTP Error 400 - "The size of the request headers is too long"?

A user receives the issue upon visiting PI Vision, even after clearing their browser cache and cookies. They can access PI Vision when using an InPrivate tab, however. This is with Microsoft Edge.

We had the same issue with some users. In our case the users were members of too many Active Directory groups. We increased the values for the registry entries MaxFieldLength and MaxRequestBytes on the PI Vision web server (see Workaround 2: Set MaxFieldLength and MaxRequestBytes registry entries in the link below).
