You would probably use Stream GetSummary to retrieve min and max values. If you need both at the same time, please consider using SummaryType "All".
A more advanced option is StreamSet GetSummariesAdHoc. The StreamSet Controller implements those actions allowing to retrieve data for multiple Streams using in a single request.
