Clarification on Development Capability in InTouch HMI 2023 R2 License

Dear Team,

I need your clarification regarding the following license:

Part Code / Description:
InTch-06-N-231 : AVEVA InTouch HMI 2023 R2 Workstation 100K Tag with I/O

Could you please confirm whether this license includes development capability (i.e., whether development is free/embedded within this license), or if we need to purchase a separate development license for application engineering?

    1. Firstly, it should be noted that the solution you are using should be a standalone version of InTouch, not a SystemPlatform solution. This authorization is for the standalone InTouch client.
    2. The answer to this question is closely related to the software version you installed and used on site.
    a. If the software you install on site is version 2023 R2 or earlier (including 2020), entering InTouch WindowMaker still requires a development license, and purchasing InTch-06-N-231 alone cannot complete the development.
    b. If the software you install on site is version 2023R2P01 or later, when entering WindowMaker, the software itself will no longer detect whether you have a development version authorization. Even if you do not have authorization, you can still enter WindowMaker for development. Therefore, purchasing InTch-06-N-231 to run the function is sufficient.

    Note:
    1. Material number: InTch-06-N-231. From an authorization perspective, it only contains the function of running, but since 2023R2P01, Maker software no longer detects authorization. For low version software, development authorization is still required for development.
    2. If you use an IDE for InTouch project hosting on site, you will need to purchase a separate development license, as the IDE software still requires authorization upon entry, and only the new version of Maker does not detect authorization

    Thanks for your clarification. As I am using AVEVA InTouch HMI 2023 R2 SP1 P02 (Standalone InTouch, not System Platform), please confirm that in this version there is no need to purchase a separate Development license for WindowMaker.

    Hi PU

    I have a question regarding this topic, If the standalone application IO Tags will read and write data through a third-party DDE Server, Do I have to purchase a separate License for The DDE communication driver and install it to connect to the DDE Server 

    Also, I want to ask If I'm Planning to use the Alarm DB Logger, Do I have to purchase a separate license for SQL server or not

    Is there any Component rather than the InTouch Development and Run Time I need to install if I want to edit the standalone application and publish it to other nodes that run the same application

    You can use the AVEVA InTouch HMI 2023 R2 SP1 P02 software to directly develop features using Maker without the need for additional development licenses

    1.For third-party drivers, such as Top Server, you should purchase third-party driver licenses.
    2.The Alarm DB Logger component is a component used to store real-time alarms to SQL Server and complete historian. The SQL version included in the software installation package is Express, which is free, but there are limitations on the maximum 10Gb per database and the number of CPU cores used. Pay special attention to the 10Gb limit, which can result in the length of time for storing historical alarms, and they may need to periodically archive and clear historical alarms.
    If they want to store historical alarms for a longer period of time, they need to purchase additional Microsoft SQL Standard or Enterprise editions, so that a single database can be larger and the number of CPU cores available will be higher.
    In addition, if you are using the systemPlatform solution, you can also store it in the Historian Block to avoid the limitations of SQL database storage.
    3. InTouch development and release do not require additional licenses to use release or NAD features.
    Note: To access the IDE for project hosting and deployment, development version authorization is still required.
