which Modbus Driver ? - Sungrow Logger 1000A

i have a Sungrow (Brand) - model 1000A Logger for a solar energy system.

i can easily communicate (using Modbus CAS Scanner - freeware tool) to the unit and it returns valid data in correct format as i expect.

however, when i use plant SCADA 2023R2 comms with same settings i cannot connect to it?

does anyone have any experience with comms to these loggers? currently i am using MODNET (which has been successful with about 20 other Modbus TCP devices i have) i was going to try the others, but it looks like there is a vast amount of differing Modbus drivers.

  • Hi Alan, actually i'm getting same issue can you please suggest me that this parameter to be added in Citect.ini file of project or plant scada software? and which driver you have selected?

  • Hi Vishal,

yes i needed to add the parameter to the ini file "Specifically" for that device ONLY (i have other devices on Modbus TCP). the driver i used was MODNET for my comms. the issue with my device was the SCADA driver would not initialize the device i think , hence the parameter that must force a read of address 030001.

a free tool that i found handy for fault finding was "CAS Modbus Scanner" which could easily read the device. SCADA support also used "Wireshark" software to diagnose the SCADA driver issue.
