S7TCP driver warning message

I’m currently experiencing an issue with the S7TCP driver in AVEVA Plant SCADA 2020 R2. Upon launching the system, I receive an driver warning stating: "You are running a restricted version of the S7TCP driver."

Here are the details of my setup:

AVEVA Plant SCADA 2020 R2 with a perpetual license activated via the Floating License Manager

S7TCP driver (latest version) installed and licensed

The S7TCP driver license has been successfully activated in the Enterprise License Manager

Despite the license activation, the error persists and the driver appears to be running in restricted mode.

Could you please advise on how to resolve this issue? Any guidance or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi

I'd recommend reaching out to AVEVA Technical Support, as they would be best to assist you with this.

    Some things I would try:

    - Check that S7TCP_3.02.01.000_RELEASE driver was installed correctly, is the s7tcp.dll in the BIN directory this version expected?

    - What errors if any, are seen in the syslog for the client and IOServer? Anything related to license check?

    - What is the status of the driver license in FLM? Is it showing as available and healthy?

    - Support might suggest enabling additional logging in FLM to troubleshoot further.

    Kind regards

    Olivier
