PI AF enumeration set size limitations

Is there a suggested/documented limit on the number of values an enumeration set can have?

A client would like to select from a set of almost 4000 existing codes. Practically it doesn't seem feasible, as there is no scroll or filtering to allow ease of selection - instead one has to click the down arrow while it slowly scrolls through the many values.

Is there an easier way of selecting a value, or should I change approach?

Kind Regards,

  • Hi (Missing Content). Thanks for the response and info, that makes sense.

Something to note for other users experiencing difficulty selecting Enum values:

When typing the first letter, the value is switched to the first enum starting with that letter, but the list doesn't automatically scroll to that item. By pressing the down or up arrow after typing a letter, the list will scroll to the desired starting letter.

Perhaps a feature request is for the list to automatically scroll to the selected item when a letter is typed.
